This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Systems Engineer (Professional Services) based in the United States.
This is a client-facing, hands-on engineering role focused on delivering Modern Work transformation and migration projects within enterprise and regulated environments. In this position, you will lead end-to-end migration initiatives across Microsoft 365 workloads, helping organizations modernize collaboration, identity, and endpoint management platforms. You will work directly with customers and internal teams to assess current environments, define migration strategies, and execute complex transitions with minimal disruption. The role combines deep technical expertise with consulting and advisory responsibilities, ensuring solutions are aligned with business, security, and compliance requirements. You will play a key part in enabling secure, scalable, and modern cloud collaboration ecosystems. This is a remote position with occasional travel and strong emphasis on customer engagement and delivery excellence.
- Lead the assessment, planning, and execution of Modern Work migration projects across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Design and implement migration strategies for tenant-to-tenant and hybrid environments, including discovery, coexistence, pilot migrations, cutover, and stabilization phases.
- Translate business, technical, and compliance requirements into structured migration plans, architecture designs, and execution roadmaps.
- Implement identity, security, and governance frameworks including Conditional Access, authentication, data protection, retention, and administrative controls.
- Support endpoint modernization using Microsoft Intune and ensure device readiness for Microsoft 365 environments.
- Execute identity migrations and integrations across platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, and Google Workspace, including federation, SSO, and directory synchronization.
- Develop detailed documentation including migration waves, runbooks, rollback plans, testing strategies, and operational handoff materials.
- Support regulated cloud environments, including Microsoft 365 GCC and GCC High, ensuring compliance and security alignment.
- Participate in pre-sales discovery, solution validation, and Statement of Work (SOW) reviews to ensure technical feasibility and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to ensure successful delivery of Modern Work engagements.
- Provide post-migration support, issue resolution, and continuous improvement recommendations.
- 5+ years of experience delivering Modern Work, collaboration, messaging, identity, or endpoint modernization projects using Microsoft technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 workloads including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Microsoft Entra ID, and Intune.
- Proven experience with tenant-to-tenant migrations, hybrid coexistence, cutover planning, and post-migration support.
- Deep understanding of identity architecture including SSO, federation, hybrid identity, and directory synchronization.
- Experience implementing security and compliance controls such as Conditional Access, MFA, data protection, and retention policies.
- Familiarity with integration of identity and security tools such as Microsoft Defender, Entra Conditional Access, Okta, Duo, and related platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft migration tools, PowerShell scripting, and third-party migration platforms.
- Strong understanding of Azure services supporting Modern Work and identity integration.
- Ability to translate complex technical environments into clear documentation, migration plans, and stakeholder communications.
- Experience working in or supporting Microsoft 365 GCC or GCC High environments is highly preferred.
- Strong consulting, communication, and customer-facing skills with the ability to lead technical discussions.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.
- Competitive base salary starting at approximately $120,000+, depending on experience and qualifications.
