Job Description
Most part-time roles are designed to stay part-time. This one isn’t.
Part-Time → Full-Time Growth Opportunity
At The Benefit Boutique, we partner with small businesses to bring clarity, strategy, and a high-touch experience to employee benefits. Our clients don’t feel like a number—and neither will you.
We’re growing, and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
About the Role
This is a remote, contractor position starting at approximately 15 hours per week, with a clear path to expand into a larger role as responsibilities grow.
Two or more years of employee benefits, insurance brokerage, benefits administration, HR benefits administration, or related experience strongly preferred.
This role involves learning multiple systems, carrier processes, and client workflows. There is a significant learning curve during the first several months. The right person enjoys solving problems, learning new systems, and figuring things out when the answer isn't immediately obvious.
Success in this role requires strong follow-through, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts without letting details fall through the cracks.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day service needs for multiple employer groups, coordinating with clients, carriers, and vendors to resolve a variety of benefits, eligibility, enrollment, billing, and account service issues.
- Manage and process employee enrollments, terminations, eligibility changes, and other benefits administration activities.
- Maintain organization, accuracy, and timeliness
- Proactively manage and clear daily tasks in Zoho CRM and BerniePortal to ensure nothing falls behind
- New the on-boarding and implementation of new client groups
What We’re Looking For
- Highly responsive and detail-oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Ownership mindset
- Comfortable managing multiple requests
- You follow through quickly, communicate proactively, and don’t let tasks sit unresolved
- Comfortable taking initiative and operating with minimal oversight
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks without direction
- Takes ownership of workload and ensures nothing falls through the cracks
- Comfortable working through complexity and uncertainty while learning. You don't need to know everything immediately, but you do need the confidence to keep moving forward while you figure it out.
This role may be a great fit if:
Systems & Tools (Preferred Experience)
- Zoho One (CRM, Sign, Learn)
- BerniePortal (or similar benefits administration platforms like Ease)
- Carrier Portals and online enrollment systems
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, OneDrive)
- Experience working with insurance carriers or general agents
Availability Expectations
- Must be available during standard business hours (CST)
- Ability to respond to time-sensitive requests within the same business day
Compensation & Structure
- $23–$25/hour (contractor)
- 10–15 hours per week to start
- Defined path to a full-time, long-term role as responsibilities expand
Best suited for someone ready to move beyond part time or gig work and build something more stable
Location
Texas-based candidates preferred (not required)
