The Role

The GTS Services and Materials Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing all contract procurement, vendor sourcing and material acquisition activities across (GTS). This role ensures projects are supported with the right materials and services at optimal cost, quality and schedule:

CORE OBJECTIVES

  • Support project margin (40% baseline, 45%+ target)
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery
  • mitigate contract and supply chain risks
  • Align procurement with project schedules and budgets

Contract Procurement and Management

  • Develop and negotiate vendor and subcontractor agreements
  • Define scope, pricing and delivery expectations
  • Maintain contract compliance and documentation

Material Sourcing and Procurement

  • Source turbomachinery components, repair parts, and tooling
  • Qualify suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability
  • Execute purchase orders and track deliveries
Vendor Management
  • Maintain preferred supplier network
  • Evaluate vendor performance
  • Drive cost efficiency and reliability
Cost Control
  • Align procurement costs with project budgets
  • Track committed vs estimated costs
  • Identify savings opportunities
Scheduling and Logistics
  • Align procurement with project timelines
  • Coordinate delivery and mobilization
  • Mitigate supply chain risks
Collaboration
  • Work with PMs, Field Execution, Engineering, and Finance
  • Support execution strategy with procurement decisions
Process Improvment
  • Standardize procurement processes
  • Implement tracking tools
  • Improve efficiency and transparency

Primary Role Responsibilities:

Procurement, Manage Materials Delivery Supplier Quality & Cost

  • Documentation Coordination and retention for field requirements qualifications
  • Evaluate and maintain supplier scorecards to meet RMS' objectives, policies and procedures
  • Manage non-conformances and supplier chargebacks
  • Reconcile invoicing weekly and monthly from all Third Part suppliers
  • Initiate supplier improvement meetings to improve quality and manufacturability
  • Coordinate Supplier project kickoff execution meetings
  • Performs other related company duties as assigned
  • Manage terms and conditions with suppliers

Key Success Factors:

  • Purchasing in a mechanical / Industrial environment
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineered mechanical drawings
  • Strong organizational, communication and computer skills required
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word Required
  • Know how to create and review contracts
  • JOBBOSS experience a plus, but not required
  • Turbo Machinery, Steam turbines and centrifugal compressor experience, Highly recommended
  • Quality costs aligned with business goals
  • Willingness to "roll-up sleeves" to get the job done vs. delegating up or down the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with QMS principles and ISO 9001
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Procurement, Quality ISO & Approved Supplier List procedures
  • Contract negotiations & Order placement
  • Supplier Development Strategies

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher education in business or related field
  • CPM Certification a plus
  • 10 + years' experience in Purchasing, Materials Management and planning
  • Strong experienced in procuring, expediting and managing contracts and schedules
  • Raw Material, Machining and grinding processes, Fabrications, MRO, Stampings, Engraving, Pipe and fittings as well as many other industrial items.

Special Information

  • The position will be based in our Houston, TX location.
  • This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40+ hours per week. Additional Hours, including evenings or weekends may be required based on company needs.
  • Travel time expected to visit vendors as needed, 5% to 10%
  • The position is required to be 100% onsite
  • This position can be required to participate in the company random or customer specific drug and alcohol screening and background check.
  • Ability to act professionally under stressful situations.
  • Able to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Work Environment:

Office Environment on a regular basis. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may perform work in a shop environment and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts. While the work area may be described as generally clean, safe, and "not loud", there will be machining operations that generate moderate noise and metal particles.
