Job Description

Road Supervisor (Mining / Access Road / Project) Amazon

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Road Supervisor (Mining / Access Road / Project) Amazon based in Brazil.

This is a field-intensive leadership role focused on the supervision of road construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance works supporting a remote mining access corridor in the Amazon region. You will be responsible for ensuring continuous operability of critical infrastructure across challenging tropical terrain, where heavy rainfall, logistics constraints, and environmental sensitivity shape daily execution. The role combines hands-on technical oversight with strong site leadership, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and heavy equipment operations to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes. You will play a key part in maintaining road accessibility that directly supports mining operations and site continuity. Working in a remote environment, you will be expected to make practical decisions on the ground while ensuring alignment with engineering standards and safety requirements. This position is ideal for a resilient field professional who thrives in remote, high-responsibility infrastructure projects.

Accountabilities
  • Supervise daily road construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance activities across assigned sections of a 120 km mining access road.
  • Ensure all works are executed according to engineering specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
  • Oversee key roadworks activities including grading, drainage, culvert installation, embankment stabilization, erosion control, and surfacing.
  • Lead and coordinate local crews, operators, foremen, and subcontractors in remote field conditions.
  • Plan daily work activities and allocate manpower, equipment, and resources efficiently.
  • Monitor productivity and utilization of heavy equipment such as graders, excavators, bulldozers, compactors, water trucks, and haul trucks.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, promote safe work practices, and actively reinforce safety culture on site.
  • Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions in a timely manner and support corrective actions.
  • Track progress through daily reporting, including manpower, equipment usage, and work completion records.
  • Support forward planning of activities, identifying resource needs and potential execution risks.
Requirements
  • Technical diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Infrastructure, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in road construction, rehabilitation, or maintenance supervision.
  • Proven experience on mining access roads, forestry roads, oil & gas access routes, or similar remote heavy civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong background working in remote, high-rainfall tropical environments with difficult terrain conditions.
  • Experience managing and leading local workforce teams in remote operational settings.
  • Solid understanding of road construction methodologies, earthworks, drainage systems, and maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment operations and coordination in field environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills under challenging conditions.
  • High adaptability to remote living and seasonal environmental constraints, including Amazonian field conditions.
  • Prior experience in Amazon or similar rainforest environments is highly desirable.
Benefits
  • Opportunity to work on a large-scale, strategically important mining infrastructure project in a unique environment.
  • Field leadership role with high autonomy and direct impact on operational continuity.
  • Exposure to complex civil works in remote tropical and high-rainfall conditions.
  • Strong responsibility scope managing crews, equipment, and subcontractors on critical access infrastructure.
  • Dynamic and challenging environment with real-time problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Professional experience in large-scale mining support infrastructure projects.
  • Competitive field-based compensation package aligned with remote project conditions.
