What You’ll Do

As an Education Coordinator, you will report to the Director. Is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating and evaluating orientation, continuing education and in-service programs for the Beacon Health System Transport staff which are competency based. As a vital member of the Transport Leadership team, this role extends to operational tasks assigned by the Director to assist in the department's day-to-day operations.

Education Coordinator Job Responsibilities

  • Conducts educational needs assessments and develops training programs to support staff development and regulatory compliance.
  • Designs, delivers, evaluates, and updates educational materials, lesson plans, courses, and competency-based training programs.
  • Provides classroom, group, and one-on-one instruction for clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Coordinates orientation, monitors employee progress, and provides coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Maintains training records, attendance logs, program schedules, evaluations, and other educational documentation.
  • Educates patients and community members on healthcare-related topics and wellness initiatives.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and revision of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Organizes and facilitates certification and continuing education programs, including AHA, PHTLS, and AMLS courses.
  • Tracks required and preferred credentials, certifications, and license renewals to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Compiles and reports education and credentialing data to support organizational readiness and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborates with leaders and departments to identify learning opportunities and improve staff performance outcomes.
  • Participates in community outreach activities, special projects, and departmental initiatives to support organizational goals.
  • Maintains compliance with professional licensure, continuing education, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

What You Bring

As an Education Coordinator, this position requires comprehensive knowledge of adult learning principles, training methodologies, educational program development, and the tools and equipment necessary to support effective learning. The role demands advanced clinical expertise and demonstrated competency in performing assessments, procedures, treatments, and specialized techniques. Strong analytical skills are essential to evaluate training needs, design and implement educational programs, and measure learning outcomes. Candidates must possess the ability to effectively teach and engage learners with diverse educational backgrounds while adapting instructional approaches to meet individual needs. The position requires strong leadership skills to coordinate training initiatives, motivate staff, and support organizational development. A passion for teaching, continuous learning, and mentoring others is essential. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required to effectively collaborate with staff, customers, and stakeholders, facilitate both group and individual instruction, and provide constructive, supportive feedback that promotes learner confidence, professional growth, and skill development.

Required Qualifications

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of either an accredited Paramedic program.
  • Unrestricted Indiana and Michigan Paramedic license as well as National Registry required to apply.
  • Current driver's license with clean record required.
  • BLS-HCP, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and PHTLS required upon hire.
  • AHA and NAEMT instructor credentials required within one year of hire.
  • Supervisory experience in medical transport preferred.
  • Specialty Transport Certification (i.e. Flight Paramedic Certification) required, OR a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Indiana.
  • A Master's degree in Nursing or Advanced Practice Nursing degree preferred.
  • Two years of previous nursing experience is required.
  • Must also be CPR certified as an instructor.
