Industrial Engineering – Planning & Analytics

Job Brief

Third-Party Logistics (3PL) – Last-Mile Delivery & Fulfillment Operations

Role Overview

· This role provides Industrial Engineering support for RAS Logistics account operations, turning operational data into dashboards, reports, and root-cause analysis that drive day-to-day efficiency and lower operating cost.

· You will partner closely with division ops leadership (including VP-level partners) and site/ops management to improve processes, streamline SOPs, and close performance gaps across the network.

· A core mandate is building forecasting tools that clarify driver need and improve overall staffing decisions, so sites run fuller, steadier days with the right mix of capacity.

· You will also lead inside work measurement, cost analysis, and driver-pay / bid profitability work so operations are more efficient and commercially stronger.

· Some travel is required to support sites, ops leadership, and on-the-ground process work.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Dashboards, Reporting & Root Cause

· Build dashboards and internal apps with a strong preference for AI-assisted development to move faster on reporting and tooling.

· Build and maintain operational dashboards that give leadership clear visibility into productivity, service, cost, and capacity.

· Produce recurring and ad-hoc reports that support division ops leadership and site/ops managers.

· Lead root-cause analysis on service misses, inefficiencies, and cost overruns, and translate findings into prioritized actions.

· Ensure data accuracy and a single source of truth for division reporting, tied to agreed definitions and sources.

Forecasting, Driver Need & Staffing

· Develop forecasting tools that project volume and convert it into driver / team need by site and day.

· Improve staffing models across equipment and route types (including box/appliance and van-style capacity) so sites plan fuller days and avoid unnecessary adds.

· Support peak and weekly planning with clear projections ops can trust and adjust.

· Partner with ops to validate forecast assumptions against actuals and continuously tighten accuracy.

Process Improvement & SOPs

· Work with ops management to improve processes and streamline standard operating procedures (SOPs) across the network.

· Conduct inside work measurement, time studies, and workflow analysis to reduce operating cost and remove waste.

· Document standard work and support rollout so improvements stick across sites.

Cost Analysis & Bid Profitability

· Analyze operating cost drivers and identify efficiency opportunities that protect margin while meeting service goals.

· Support cost analysis that streamlines driver pay structures and improves bid profitability.

· Build clear data cases for process changes, staffing changes, and commercial decisions.

Cross-Functional Partnership

· Serve as a primary IE / analytics partner to division ops leadership.

· Translate complex analysis into practical recommendations ops can execute.

· Align ops, planning, and leadership on shared improvement goals and forecast assumptions.

Key Areas of Focus

· Operational dashboards & reporting

· Root-cause analysis on service & productivity

· Forecasting tools for driver need & staffing

· Capacity planning support across route / equipment types

Core Competencies

· Communication and data storytelling for executive and ops audiences

· Project leadership and influence without authority

· Bias toward action and measurable results

· Comfort building forecasting and staffing models that ops will actually use

· AI-assisted dashboard and app development

Requirements:
