Job Description

Job Summary:

The Crusher Plant Maintenance Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of crushing, screening, conveying, and related aggregate processing equipment. The position monitors plant performance and material flow, performs preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoots equipment issues, and supports reliable production while maintaining safe and orderly plant conditions.

Essential Functions:

  1. Safety Always Wins. Operate, inspect, and maintain crushing, screening, conveying, and related plant equipment in accordance with established safety procedures, including required lockout/tagout and equipment isolation practices.
  2. Ownership and Caring. Monitor plant operation, material flow, and equipment condition to identify issues and take corrective action that maintains safe, efficient, and reliable production.
  3. Mastery. Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, adjustments, servicing, welding, fabrication, and component replacement on crushers, screens, conveyors, bearings, motors, drives, and related plant equipment to maximize reliability and service life.
  4. Determined. Troubleshoot mechanical and operational problems and complete repairs necessary to minimize downtime and return equipment to safe operating condition.
  5. Protect Family and Friends. Inspect guards, walkways, platforms, emergency stops, and other safety-critical plant components and promptly correct or report unsafe or defective conditions.
  6. Efficiency. Start, stop, adjust, and monitor plant equipment to maintain consistent material processing while minimizing downtime, material spillage, and unnecessary equipment wear.
  7. Compulsive Tinkering. Identify equipment deficiencies and opportunities to improve plant reliability, maintainability, and performance, and assist with plant modifications and maintenance projects.
  8. Communicate. Coordinate equipment status, production conditions, maintenance needs, and operational concerns with supervisors, operators, maintenance personnel, and other employees.
  9. Integrity. Complete required equipment inspections, maintenance documentation, and operating records accurately and promptly report equipment damage, defects, or unsafe conditions.
  10. Respect and Engage. Maintain plant work areas, tools, access points, and equipment in an orderly condition, including removal of material buildup and spillage necessary for safe access and reliable operation.
  11. Committed to Serve. Support scheduled shutdowns, major repairs, equipment changes, and other plant operating or maintenance activities based on production and business needs.

The actual rate or salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, education, qualifications, skills, and other legitimate business considerations, consistent with applicable law and the Company’s compensation practices.

Travel:

Position may require up to 5% travel by personal vehicle to work locations throughout the company based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This position works primarily outdoors and within an active aggregate processing environment with exposure to moving equipment, elevated noise, dust, vibration, uneven surfaces, heights, and varying weather and temperatures. Work requires frequent standing and walking; climbing stairs, ladders, and plant structures; bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand use. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and handle heavier components with appropriate assistance or lifting equipment. Work may require accessing elevated or restricted equipment areas and performing maintenance in awkward positions. Appropriate PPE is required.
