Job Description
A.T. Still University's School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ASDOH) is seeking an exempt Simulation Clinic Faculty member for the Mesa Campus location.
The Simulation Clinic faculty member works closely with the Associate Dean for Preclinical Affairs to support preclinical education, student instruction, clinical skills development, and assessment. The position requires strong clinical and preclinical dental knowledge, excellent teaching and communication skills, fair student assessment, leadership and organizational abilities, adaptability to curriculum changes, effective time management, and a strong commitment to student success, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Instruct students during the pre-clinical modules in the sim clinic.
- Track student’s progress and collaboration in the simulation clinic and report to the Associate Dean for Pre-Clinical Education.
- Attend lecture in the class room with the student to be calibrated
- Help in grading process and entering and calculating grades in the simulation- clinic
- Attend meeting with Course Director/Instructor to review the scheduled procedures
- Assist the Associate Dean for Pre-Clinical Education to reviewing, expanding and incorporate new modules in the pre-clinic curriculum
- Oversee and instruct remediation plans
- Participate in necessary training and education as required to stay updated in technology and other dental advances (need to have Digital dentistry experience)
- Oversee and train students and instructors in electronic dental charting (Axium Training Environment)
- Complete grading of scenarios, group activities and other assignments as needed
- Develop PowerPoints, instructional videos and manuals as needed.
- Complete demos for the class and fabricate examples as needed.
- Education DMD/DDS
- 5 years' clinical and/or didactic education
- Experience in collaboration
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and in writing
- Computer skills including google drive, PowerPoints, videos.
- Digital Dentistry Experience
- Organizational skills Problem solving skills Facilitation skills
