Voluntary Action Center of Northern Illinois is looking for a Part-Time Site Coordinator to work at our Meals on Wheels Congregate Dining Site in Peru, Illinois! This weekday position offers 25–29 hours per week and is perfect for someone who enjoys making a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults. As the Site Coordinator, you'll oversee the daily operations of our congregate dining program, help create a welcoming environment for participants, coordinate meal services, and work alongside a dedicated team committed to serving our community. What You'll Do
- Coordinate the daily operations of the Meals on Wheels congregate dining site, ensuring efficient meal service and a welcoming experience for participants.
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and accurate meal records while ensuring compliance with program policies.
- Support participant engagement by fostering a friendly environment, coordinating activities, and responding to participant needs.
- Communicate with drivers, volunteers, and staff to coordinate meal distribution, scheduling, and program updates.
- Assist with inventory management, dining room setup, volunteer coordination, and general site organization.
- Provide administrative support, answer participant inquiries, and assist with outreach efforts to promote program participation.
- Serve as a collaborative team member by providing backup support for kitchen operations and meal delivery services as needed.

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in food service and serving older adults is highly desirable.
- Possess or obtain an Illinois Basic Food Handler Certification at the time of hire, in accordance with applicable state requirements.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and physical.

Physical Demands
The duties of this position require frequent sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and occasionally driving a motor vehicle for extended periods of time. May require lifting or moving objects up to 30 lbs. as needed for meal prep, setup and cleanup. Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and/or fingers required. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, the telephone and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing/vision.
