About This Position
Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for a Mechanic II position. Applications will be screened after the following filing deadlines at 5PM:

The Mechanic II is the journey level class in the Mechanic series. Under general supervision, incumbents independently perform a variety of skilled maintenance, construction, and repair work with minimal instruction or guidance. Incumbents in this class are expected to demonstrate proficiency maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment and systems including operation of lift and pump stations. Incumbents may serve as a lead worker to provide training and work direction to lower-level staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a valid California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Mechanical Technologist Grade 1 certificate, or higher.
AND
Either: 1. Two (2) years of full-time paid experience employed by the Sacramento Area Sewer District in the class of Mechanic I.
Or:2. Three (3) years of full-time paid experience in the maintenance, construction, and repair of mechanical and electrical components of equipment in wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, storm drain pumping stations, or other mechanical facilities with similar systems and equipment.
Note: Completion of a two (2) year mechanical-electrical technology program or two (2) years of a stationary engineer apprenticeship program may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience in pattern #2 above
