About This Position

Position Summary and Purpose:

The Database Administrator role will oversee, maintain, and enhance our Deacom ERP system. This role will ensure the system's performance, reliability, and scalability to support the business's operational and strategic goals. The Database Administrator will act as the primary liaison with Deacom representatives to troubleshoot issues, coordinate upgrades, and implement system improvements. Additionally, this position involves substantial collaboration with internal teams to build and optimize reports, workflows, and functionality.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the daily operation of the Deacom ERP system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly, working closely with Deacom representatives as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with Deacom representatives for troubleshooting, system upgrades, report building, and related activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and implement system changes accordingly.
  • Build, test, and optimize custom reports, and workflows within the Deacom ERP system.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including standard operating procedures, user guides, workflows, and technical procedures.
  • Ensure system security and data integrity by managing access controls and performing regular audits.
  • Provide training and support to end-users, addressing system-related inquiries and issues.
  • Assist IT Specialist on project work as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all colleagues, levels of management, vendors, and customers.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and workflows at once.
  • Deep knowledge of ERP system functionality and capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, as well as talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must be able to regularly use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and climb stairs. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull office products and supplies up to 25 pounds.

Working conditions:

  • The position works in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment may often be loud.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

  • This is typically a full-time, onsite position. Hybrid or remote work may be considered depending on knowledge and experience. Standard days and hours of work are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing ERP systems, preferably Deacom.
  • Strong knowledge of database management, system maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with additional ERP systems or database tools.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Proficiency in SQL, SQL2 preferred.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry.
