Fleet Maintenance Mechanic III - Job Description
Fleet Maintenance Mechanic I:

  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year experience performing routine operator level automotive maintenance.
  • Must possess a valid Class D Arizona driver license upon the first day of employment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Any ASE certifications in the A, C, G and T series.
  • CDL Driver’s License.

Fleet Maintenance Mechanic II:

  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years’ experience performing routine automotive maintenance.
  • Must possess a valid Class D Arizona driver license upon the first day of employment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must possess A5 – Brakes and Tire Inspection, Balancing, and Replacement, and A6 – Electrical/Electronic Systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Any ASE certifications in the A, C, G and T series.
  • CDL Driver’s License.
Fleet Maintenance Mechanic III:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Five (5) years’ experience performing routine automotive maintenance.
  • Experience with heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Must possess ASE Master Certification: A1 – Engine Repair; A2 – Automatic Transmission/Transaxle; A3 – Manual Drive Train & Axles; A4 – Suspension & Steering; A5 – Brakes; A6 – Electrical/Electronic Systems; A7 – Heating & Air Conditioning; A8 – Engine Performance.
  • Must currently possess or be able to obtain a Class ‘B’ CDL driver’s license within 18 months of employment.
  • Must possess a valid Class D Arizona driver license upon the first day of employment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or vocational degree/certificate in automotive maintenance.


  • Work is performed primarily in a shop environment and/or occasional field environment with some travel from site to site; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces and rough terrain.
  • Must be able to lift or move over fifty (50) pounds.
  • Regular, daily attendance is an essential function for this position.
  • May be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.
