About This Position
Job Title: Veterinary Technician FT and PT
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in all aspects of animal care, including examinations, surgeries, and treatments.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by veterinarians.
- Perform laboratory tests, such as bloodwork and urinalysis, and accurately record and interpret results.
- Take and develop radiographs (X-rays) and assist in interpreting findings.
- Monitor animals before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures.
- Educate and advise pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition, medication administration, and post-operative care.
- Assist with maintaining accurate and organized patient records.
- Provide compassionate support to pet owners during difficult times, including euthanasia procedures.
Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting.
- Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Familiarity with veterinary pharmacy and medication dosage calculations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic towards animals and their owners.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and occasional holidays.
