About This Position

Join Our Team as a Massage Therapist in a beautiful medical spa setting!

Part-time hours


We have an immediate need for a part-time Massage Therapist at our North Liberty location to work approximately 20 hours per week. During the week the hours will typically be between 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on varying days. On Saturdays the hours will be 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The team at Revitalize U Med Salon and Spa provides an all-inclusive cosmetic experience. We are looking for someone that is energetic, enjoys a fast- paced work environment, and provides superior customer services to guests.

This position is benefits eligible.

Position Summary

The Massage Therapist position is responsible for providing therapeutic massage services to clients to relieve pain, reduce stress, promote relaxation and overall well-being. This role involves assessing clients' physical condition, understanding their needs, and customizing treatments to suit individual preferences and health goals. They ensure a relaxing and professional environment, maintain client confidentiality, and follow safety and hygiene standards.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assess clients’ needs through consultations and evaluations to tailor massages for therapeutic benefits.
  • Performs a variety of massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, trigger point, and hot stone massages.
  • Provides professional and courteous service while maintaining confidentiality and respect for clients.
  • Provides recommendations for follow-up treatments, exercises, or lifestyle changes to improve clients’ well-being.
  • Maintain client records with details of treatment, preferences, and progress.
  • Adhere to all company and state health, safety, and legal regulations related to massage therapy practices.
  • Stay current on massage therapy trends and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills.
  • Work collaboratively with other therapists and wellness professionals to provide a comprehensive client experience.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduated from an accredited or approved Massage Therapy program.
  • Active Iowa Massage Therapy License.
  • Proven experience as a licensed massage therapist in a spa, wellness center, or healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, massage techniques, and therapeutic benefits.
  • Proficient knowledge of reflexology, Swedish, prenatal, hot stone, trigger point, sports, and deep tissue massage.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Six months of work experience as a massage therapist is preferred.
  • National certification in massage therapy preferred. (NCBTMB National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork)

Physical Requirements

These physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop, push, and pull.
  • Manual dexterity to perform massage techniques.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Successful completion of reference checks.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
