Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

To promote the mission of PATH to help individuals achieve a more independent and fulfilling life by being an effective team member and ensuring the properties are maintained to present a safe, welcoming environment to live, work and receive services.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be physically able to lift and move items as necessary at least 50 pounds.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  1. To assist, perform or arrange the completion of maintenance functions in all agency facilities. This includes making repairs, requesting support from outside contractors and other team members.
  2. When scheduled, will open and/or close locations according to procedures and in keeping with the Security System.
  3. Perform site checklists to assure safe operation of all mechanical systems and the environment in general.
  4. Monitor and ensure preventative maintenance schedule for all PATH facilities (including interior and exterior). Complete checklists. This may include landscaping, cleaning, and other facility maintenance work orders.
  1. Assist supervisor in training the staff in facilities maintenance issues.
  2. Arrange to complete necessary maintenance as issues arise.
  3. Work with supervisor to prioritize necessary work schedule.
  4. Painting as supervisor assigns.
  5. Supervise outside contractors at PATH sites when needed.
  6. Oversee the organization of the long-term storage facility.
  7. Assure adequate positioning of copy paper supplies at various copiers at company sites.
  8. Drive agency vehicles when necessary for site relocations, residential client moves or material pickup.
  9. Monitor heating, ventilation and air conditioning daily.
  10. Be on call during work hours to respond to emergency requests regarding facility support functions.
  11. Assist in monitoring evacuation during fire drills conditioning daily.
  12. Assure snow removal from sidewalks, walkways, parking lots and driveways of all PATH properties.
  13. Assure coordinated effort to facilitate refuse removal conditioning including at administrative sites and residential sites.
  14. Order and pickup hardware materials necessary for ongoing maintenance projects.
  15. Responsible for being on call for a week at a time, under a rotating schedule within the department which may include evening, morning and weekend hours.
  16. Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing nonstructural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair.
  17. Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  18. Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
  19. Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems
  20. Support and maintain facilities inventory system
  21. Staff Safety Committee Meetings.
