Part-Time Registered Nurse – Juvenile Detention Center

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for a part-time position at the District 1 Juvenile Detention Center. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the healthcare system, ensuring the well-being of youth residents, providing nursing care, and training staff in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. What You’ll Do:
•Resident Care: Screen new residents, assess health needs, and provide care (medications, wound care, etc.).
•Health Monitoring: Evaluate physical and mental health, manage concerns, and coordinate with external professionals.
•Staff Training: Train Juvenile Detention Officers on medical protocols, CPR/First Aid, medication distribution, and more.
•Medication & Records: Administer medications, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA.
•Wellness & Education: Conduct wellness groups and provide health education on hygiene, nutrition, substance abuse, and mental health.

Do You Have What It Takes?
•Active Registered Nurse licensure in Idaho.
•Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
•Preferred: Experience working with youth in high-risk settings.
•Certifications: CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
•Skills: Knowledge of medical protocols, ability to train staff, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
•Work Environment: Must be comfortable working with vulnerable youth and sometimes challenging situations. 20 hours a week-some flexibility allowed.
