Finance - Temp at The First National Bank of Long Island – Melville, New York

Responsibilities:

• Manages the Prologue General Ledger (G/L) system to ensure accuracy on a daily basis; Reviews daily bank reconciliations; Reconciles/analyses various G/L accounts; reviews other G/L account reconciliations; Assembles monthly G/L Proof book.
• Oversees the day-to-day wire transfer function through WireXchange and verifies large dollar transfers.
• Oversees the monthly close process; Prepares monthly financial reports, analysis of noninterest income and expense, and Rate/Volume/Days variance analysis. Prepares the monthly Financial Presentation to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors, as well as various quarterly financial schedules for inclusion in the Annual Report and 10-Q's.
• Maintains and reconciles fixed asset system; prepares capital budget updates. Oversees the accounts payable function; reviews invoices, approves ACH payments and signs expense checks.
• Prepares monthly stock compensation accrual. Prepares and maintains test keys for customers and branches. Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar concentration
• Minimum 5-7 years experience at a Banking institution or similar financial role
• Experience with general ledger, wire transfer and other accounting systems.
• Proficient in MicroSoft Office, advanced Excel skills.
