Position Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager of Finance & Strategy (F&S) to act as a strategic partner to our General Manager for acquired companies, Corporate Development (M&A), and CEO. This role will provide critical decision support through the delivery of accurate financial and non-financial information, enabling effective day-to-day operational decisions and guiding large-scale strategic shifts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in corporate finance, FP&A, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership to Zendesk leadership team:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's overall business objectives, with a focus on deal success and integration.

  • Provide decision support and act as a thought partner to the acquisition lead, delivering accurate analyses and insights for business decisions.

  • Collaborate with functional leads and finance partners to align on P&L forecasts, strategic initiatives, and integration decisions.

Deal Integration:

  • Operates as Finance M&A lead working closely with operational teams to ensure seamless integration of acquired entities, aligning financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

  • Work to build efficient repeatable processes for acquisition integration within the finance organization and cross functionally.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Conduct ongoing and ad hoc analyses, synthesizing complex data into actionable insights to drive P&L delivery and synergy opportunities.

  • Deliver timely and accurate reporting on key financial and operational metrics, maintaining a focus on emerging trends and return on investment.

  • Drive consolidated management reporting for all acquired companies providing insights to all levels of management.

  • Identify financial risks associated with deals and their integrations. Lead development of mitigation strategies to safeguard the company’s interests.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies throughout the deal lifecycle.

Process Improvement and Collaboration:

  • Elevate forecasting accuracy and efficiency by establishing best practices and processes within the F&S team.

  • Support the hand-off of processes to the Finance Center of Excellence, ensuring a smooth transition and ongoing efficiency.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting; MBA or CPA preferred.

  • Minimum of 6+ years of related experience in corporate finance, FP&A, investment banking, or a related field, with a focus on technology or SaaS industries.

  • Proven experience in building scalable financial models and proficiency in financial planning systems (Adaptive is a plus).

  • Strong analytical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex messages for senior executives and establish collaborative relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

  • Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude, comfortable with change, and capable of managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision

The US annualized base salary range for this position is $121,000.00-$181,000.00. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives. While this range reflects the minimum and maximum value for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, the offer for the successful candidate for this position will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other factors such as work location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only (or OTE for commissions based roles), and do not include bonus, benefits, or related incentives.
