About This Position

Responsible for ensuring the stable operation of the in-house computer network, to include planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. Analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems timely and accurately and provide end user training where required.
  1. Perform network design and capacity planning.
  2. Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
  3. Establish service level agreements with end users.
  4. Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
  5. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
  6. Handle service desk related networking issues in the form of tickets created by end users and/or automation systems.
  7. Manage or assist in the management of various solutions, including firewalls, network management tools, and intrusion detection systems.
  8. Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, and UPS(s).
  9. Ensure network connectivity of all workstations.
  10. Administer all network equipment, hardware and software upgrades.
  11. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  12. Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  13. Perform and assist with network security audits.
  14. Perform configuration backups and recovery when needed.
  15. Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  16. Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  17. Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
  18. Regular attendance and punctuality.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
Undergraduate studies in business, management information systems, computer science or related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be substituted at the Clerk’s discretion.

Experience:
Experience in troubleshooting complex computer and networking issues.

Experience installing, configuring and maintaining large network deployments including LAN, WAN and VPN topologies

Proficiency with PowerShell, Python experience preferred

Experience with version control systems (specifically GIT).

Licenses/Certificates:

Required:
Fortinet NSE4 certification, or the ability to obtain the certification within the first six months of employment is required.

Valid Florida Driver License.

Preferred:
Cisco Certified Network Administrator and Network+ preferred.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

Constant:
Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction), acceptable hearing (with or without correction), ability to access, input and retrieve information from a personal computer, ability to sit for long periods of time.

Frequent:
Ability to communicate orally in order to answer questions from the public, both in person and over the telephone.
