Are you detail-oriented and passionate about academic integrity? Whitworth University is seeking an Academic Evaluator for Non-Traditional Programs to oversee credential evaluations and degree conferral processes. In this role, you’ll provide guidance on academic credit and program progress for our adult evening, master’s, and doctoral programs—ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal policies. You’ll also play a key role in supporting Whitworth’s commencement ceremonies each year.

Program Updates & Maintenance | 30%
- Guide non-traditional advisors and programs regarding academic credits and progress toward graduation.
- Enforce and process waivers, substitutions, and program change requests related to academic programs.
- Maintain accurate and timely academic evaluation reports for non-traditional programs.
- Notify advisors and programs of students’ degree progress and final graduation requirements.
- Confer degrees and certifications for non-traditional programs.
- Process student withdrawals, hiatus requests, and ensure compliance with federal enrollment and degree reporting requirements.
- Uphold academic policies related to non-traditional programs.
Credit Evaluation & Policies | 30%
- Evaluate and ensure consistent practices for academic and transfer credit evaluations.
- Coordinate credit evaluations for AP, CLEP, DANTES, and IB programs.
- Maintain expertise in academic technology, including Colleague and other systems.
- Liaise between academic departments and non-traditional programs to provide timely credit evaluation information.
- Update course equivalencies and maintain articulation agreements in collaboration with staff and faculty.
- Maintain current policies and resources for credit equivalency and international transfer evaluations.
- Assist non-traditional programs with preliminary credit evaluations for prospective and current students.
Graduation Applications & Commencement Coordination | 20%
- Manage graduation application data and enforce related policies.
- Communicate with programs and advisors about application deadlines and requirements.
- Review graduation application petitions and degree plans for non-traditional students.
- Coordinate with programs regarding commencement participation requirements and deadlines.
- Produce degree candidate name lists and support commencement processes and events.
University Representation | 10%
- Serve as an advisor to faculty curriculum committees and educational review boards.
- Represent the Registrar’s Office on university committees and task forces as assigned.
- Attend Graduate Committee meetings, as needed.
Other Responsibilities | 10%
- Assist with reporting functions, catalog editing, and academic program updates.
- Support testing of software and form upgrades related to evaluation processes.
- Provide customer service and process transcripts and diplomas in the absence of the Program Coordinator.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- 1 year of relevant work experience in a confidential, service-oriented, computerized work environment (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).

- Knowledge of federal reporting guidelines and compliance deadlines, with the ability to adjust workload to maintain compliance.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in workplace software systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and academic tools like Colleague.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Physical ability to meet job requirements, including sitting, bending, stooping, walking, and standing for extended periods; moderate lifting (up to 25 lbs.).
- Regular use of a computer and phone as part of daily duties.
Schedule
Full-time (1.0 FTE) | 12 months | 40 hours per week | Whitworth office hours are 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday – Friday
