About This Position

Are you a dynamic, team-oriented Athletic Trainer who wants to help patients return to work safely? Your orthopedic knowledge will help to prevent future injuries while working with companies to support employee health and wellness. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • Current NM Athletic Training License (or eligible to acquire within 2 months)
  • At least 2 years of experience in athletic training.
  • NATA certification preferred, but not required

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Administers medically prescribed physical treatment programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability disease, injury or loss of body part.
  • Responsible for review of physician's referral (prescription) and patient's medical records to evaluate findings to aid in the delivery of specific treatment programs.
  • Coordinate and implement onsite injury prevention programs and customized preventative strategies.
  • Providing post offer employment testing, and work conditioning/hardening for the industrial athlete.
  • Documentation of all patient encounters through electronic medical records.
  • Assess risk of injury, perform ergonomic evaluation and coaching, self-care implementation and overall wellness promotion.
  • Be available for Athletic Training opportunities at direction of and under supervising physical therapist.

Other Skills, Abilities and Requirements:

  • Ability to travel as needed, within New Mexico.
