Qualifications

This position leads a team of human resources business partners (HRBPs) serving as trusted advisors to the business. The team drives and supports culture initiatives, performance management, engagement, talent management, and other HR programs that lead to high levels of associate engagement and retention. This position is both strategic and hands-on, leading a team of influential partners driving customer-centric People solutions that drive business results. We offer a flexible work arrangement for this role, with a preference for candidates residing near one of our major office locations.


This position manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments and has full managerial responsibilities. This position is also responsible for the implementation of policies, procedures, and strategies, as well as providing input into them, and exercising influence to ensure effective and sustained adoption.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads the operational implementation of key People processes, programs, and strategies through a team of HRBPs and direct interaction with senior leaders across the firm.
  • Works with the Business and other Centers of Excellence (COE) to understand plans and business needs to generate near-term solutions and recommendations for longer-term strategies. Leads a collaborative team that shares best practices and trends within the business to recommend and develop proactive solutions. This includes hiring, coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to deliver high quality results.
  • Serves as coach and consultant to all levels of the business, including Senior Leadership, and advances all levels of people leadership capabilities throughout the employment life cycle. This includes more effective leadership for hiring, performance, developing and promoting, employee relations, assessing talent, and offboarding. Also serves as advisor and coach to the internal People Team.
  • Manages, supports, and empowers a team of HRBPs through the full employee relations process, including investigation and final resolution. Provides expertise in the most complex of issues.
  • Partners with People Team Leadership and business leaders to recommend, develop, and implement timely, effective, and scalable People programs and processes that support the business, increase associate engagement, and enhance culture and belonging. Drives change management initiatives that positively impact associate engagement and retention.
  • Serves as a leader on the People team, developing trusted partnerships, communicating needs, and ensuring that the voice of the business is represented and that information is shared collaboratively.
  • Maintains advanced knowledge of legal requirements to ensure federal and state compliance and adheres to company policies and procedures. Partners with the legal department as needed.
  • Manages assigned HR policies, including making recommendations for improvement, creating new policies, and/or changes, and updating and communicating changes; provides guidance and interpretation on all HR policies.
  • Participates in M&A activities, including due diligence and integration efforts.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 15 years progressive HR business partner experience, including a minimum of 5 years of HR leadership experience and proven experience leading large-scale HR projects, including communicating, planning, facilitating, and following up to ensure accountability
  • Advanced skills in the full Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Requires the demonstrated ability to build credibility and confidence with a wide variety of associates and leaders as a trusted advisor and confidant.
  • Requires proven ability to influence and drive organizational transformation with leaders and associates at all levels. Must also possess strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Requires strong attention to detail and ability to manage a diverse workload with shifting priorities. Also requires the ability to take initiative, follow through, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to and understand people in a courteous and professional manner. Must also possess solid analytical, decision-making, researching and organizational capabilities.

Preferred Qualififcations:

  • HR professional certification. Experience using HCM technologies.
  • Experience working in an architecture or engineering firm.
