This role is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced actuarial professional to drive strategic impact within healthcare-focused consulting and risk solutions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, shaping financial strategies and delivering insights that influence critical decisions across healthcare, pharmacy, stop loss, and payor ecosystems. - Lead and manage a broad range of actuarial projects supporting healthcare clients, ensuring high-quality delivery and strategic alignment.
- Serve as a senior actuarial and strategic advisor, owning client engagement, satisfaction, and long-term relationship success.
- Perform and oversee complex actuarial analyses including pricing, reserving, underwriting, and financial modeling for healthcare programs.
- Develop scalable financial models and analytical frameworks in partnership with leadership to support decision-making and innovation.
- Guide and mentor junior actuaries, supporting technical development and fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
- Contribute to internal initiatives that strengthen actuarial practice infrastructure, processes, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, timely, and integrated project execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- FSA or ASA designation from the Society of Actuaries is required.
- 15+ years of healthcare actuarial experience, ideally within consulting, insurance, or healthcare organizations.
- Strong expertise in commercial healthcare markets, stop loss, underwriting, reserving, and financial modeling.
- Experience with alternative risk structures such as captives, MEWAs, or similar arrangements.
- Strong understanding of healthcare data sources including claims, encounters, labs, and EMR systems.
- Advanced analytical and modeling skills, including predictive modeling, ROI analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access; experience with SQL, R, or Python is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with experience in client-facing roles.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from 199,400 to 300,000 USD depending on experience and location.
