Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting daily operations of food repacking lines. This role ensures all products are sorted, labeled, and packaged in accordance with customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The supervisor also serves as a key communication bridge between management and a bilingual workforce, requiring strong leadership and fluency in both English and Spanish.

Key Responsibilities

Production Oversight

• Plan, prioritize, and schedule daily production runs based on inventory levels and customer demand to meet strict deadlines.
• Monitor production flow to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to timelines.

Production Support

• Maintain working knowledge of all production roles and equipment.
• Provide hands-on support on the production line as needed to ensure operational continuity.

Team Leadership

• Supervise, train, and coach repacking associates.
• Manage employee schedules, attendance, and performance evaluations.
• Foster a productive and motivated team environment.

Bilingual Communication

• Translate and communicate safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies in Spanish.
• Ensure full comprehension and compliance across English- and Spanish-speaking employees.

Quality Control & Safety Compliance

• Conduct routine inspections and audits to verify compliance with product specifications (labeling, date coding, packaging integrity).
• Ensure adherence to FDA, USDA, and GMP standards.
• Enforce OSHA safety standards and company safety policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace aligned with 5S principles.

Inventory & Data Management

• Accurately record production metrics and material usage.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational needs.

Qualifications

Minimal Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, packaging, or repacking environments.
• Professional-level fluency in both English and Spanish (required).

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with inventory or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Navision, Famous).

Physical and Technical Requirements

• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and documentation requirements.

• Analyze data and situations to solve routine and complex problems.
• Apply sound judgment and decision-making skills to resolve issues.

Physical & Sensory Abilities

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk, with frequent lifting and bending.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 90% of the work shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments, including cold storage if applicable.
• Capable of hearing and speaking effectively for communication purposes.

• Ability to work extended shifts (8+ hours), including scheduled breaks and meal periods.
