Description:

The People Operations Professional plays a key role in creating a welcoming, organized, and compliant workplace while supporting core HR operations. This role owns the day-to-day management of shared spaces—especially the breakroom and front entry—ensuring a clean, well-run environment for employees.

In addition, this role provides administrative and coordination support to the HR team, contributing to the effective execution of people processes, employee experience initiatives, and compliance requirements.

This is a highly visible position that requires strong organization, attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset, with a direct impact on employee experience, safety, and overall workplace effectiveness.

Hours: We are seeking someone Monday - Friday, typically 11:00AM - 7:30PM.

Core Responsibilities:

Workplace & Breakroom Operations

  • Own daily operations of the breakroom, including food setup, stocking, cleanliness, and organization
  • Lead execution of the Weekly Family Meal, including planning, ordering, transport, setup, and breakdown
  • Manage refrigerators, storage areas, and supply inventory
  • Establish and maintain PAR levels to ensure proper provisioning while minimizing waste and supporting sustainability goals
  • Coordinate food programs, employee events, and special activities
  • Maintain cleanliness across all communal areas (kitchen, dining, patio, dishroom), ensuring adherence to food safety and GMP standards
  • Lead and participate in weekly and monthly cleaning schedules
  • Partner with sanitation, maintenance, and operations teams as needed to maintain compliance
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance the employee experience
  • Maintain and communicate guidelines for safe and efficient use of shared spaces

Front Desk & Facility Coordination

  • Manage front door operations, including employee/visitor sign-in and sign-out processes
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employees, guests, and vendors
  • Maintain a professional, welcoming, and secure entry experience
  • Support facility coordination, including supply management, issue escalation, and general workplace organization
  • Schedule and manage meeting rooms, ensuring spaces are clean, prepared, and reset before and after use
  • Assist with facility security processes and protocols

HR & Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, including but not limited to; document preparation, filing, data entry, reporting, and general office tasks (printing, proofreading, lamination, mail distribution)
  • Support onboarding logistics, including new hire setup, materials, employee badges, and coordination
  • Assist with payroll-related processes, including distribution and sign-off coordination
  • Support employee communications, engagement initiatives, and company programs
  • Assist with audits, compliance tracking, and reporting as needed
  • Provide day-to-day employee support, including answering phones, resolving password resets, and responding to general inquiries

Culture & Employee Experience

  • Act as a liaison between the People Team and the shared spaces, ensuring clear communication and alignment on initiatives and operational needs
  • Support and communicate company initiatives, policies, benefits, and Bread Alone’s purpose, values, and culture
  • Listen to employee concerns, identify themes, and partner with the People team to support resolution and improve the employee experience
  • Provide feedback to the People Department on employee sentiment and workplace challenges
  • Build strong relationships with employees and external partners to foster a positive and engaging workplace

Requirements:

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods while executing tasks with precision and speed
  • Sufficient finger and hand dexterity to operate office machinery, handle kitchen equipment, and perform high-volume data entry
  • Ability to frequently lift, pull, push, and carry awkward or shifting weights up to 50 pounds (e.g., stocking bulk supplies, moving meal service equipment)
  • Must be able to read digital screens, proofread physical documents, and communicate clearly via telephone and in person
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety protocols
  • Ability to work in kitchen, breakroom, and production-adjacent environments
  • Ability to safely use cleaning supplies and operate basic office and kitchen equipment
  • This is a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Must be comfortable with routinely shifting priorities and balancing time-sensitive administrative tasks with immediate hospitality needs
  • While primarily based in the office and breakroom, the role requires frequent presence on the production floor. This includes exposure to the sights, sounds, and aromas of a 24/7 commercial bakery
  • Work is performed within a diverse and inclusive team setting. The role requires an "entrepreneurial spirit" with the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision
  • As our bakery operates 365 days a year, this position requires a commitment to working a consistent schedule, including holidays and weekends, to support our year-round operations
  • Constant use of computer-based applications (Google Workspace, YoDeck, internal databases) and virtual meeting platforms

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1–3 years of experience in administrative support, HR, hospitality, workplace operations, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail, particularly related to cleanliness, food safety, and compliance standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (email, calendars, documents, spreadsheets)
  • Willingness and ability to learn and follow GMP, sanitation, and safety standards

Preferred:

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
  • Experience in food manufacturing, hospitality, or a GMP-regulated environment
  • Prior experience supporting HR or People Operations
  • Experience coordinating events, employee programs, or workplace initiatives
  • Familiarity with inventory management or supply ordering systems
