About the Role:
The Maintenance Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical systems within the facility, with a particular focus on hotel environments. This position is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of boilers, refrigeration units, compressors, and chilled water systems to maintain optimal performance and safety standards. The Maintenance Engineer will implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment. Collaboration with other departments is essential to coordinate maintenance activities without disrupting guest services. Ultimately, this role ensures a safe, comfortable, and operational environment that supports the overall success of the facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with technical training in mechanical or electrical engineering fields.
- Proven experience working with boilers, refrigeration systems, compressors, and electrical systems in a maintenance capacity.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing and chilled water systems relevant to hotel or commercial facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to comply with safety regulations and protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certification in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience specifically in hotel maintenance or large commercial facilities.
- Certification in boiler operation or refrigeration systems (e.g., EPA 608 Certification).
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on boilers, plumbing, refrigeration, compressors, and electrical systems to ensure reliable operation.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults promptly to minimize equipment downtime.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to proactively address potential issues and maintain system efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support operational transparency and compliance.
- Collaborate with hotel management and other departments to plan maintenance activities that minimize disruption to guests and operations.

The required skills such as expertise in boilers, plumbing, refrigeration, compressors, and electrical systems are applied daily to inspect, maintain, and repair critical infrastructure that supports hotel operations. Preventive maintenance skills are essential to schedule and perform routine checks that prevent unexpected equipment failures.
