Summary
This position is responsible for acquiring knowledge of Epic Ambulatory (Physician Practice) software, working independently in completing project tasks and executing all tasks as part of a clinical systems implementation. This position is responsible for building system components, testing, documentation of workflows and other project information, implementation support and maintenance of Epic Ambulatory system software. This position requires knowledge of processes and workflows common in Ambulatory clinical settings and the ability to independently interact with staff to discuss current and future workflow processes. This position will work with other Epic application analysts in the building and supporting Epic's MyChart application to enhance patient experience for personal health information.
Responsibilities
• Reviews and understands system options and specifications in business and clinical applications, and utilizes these specifications as applicable to make recommendations for use. • Design, build, test, validate, and provide ongoing support of the Epic Ambulatory clinical application to meet the end user system requirements.
• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining in depth knowledge of the software functionality through Epic certification, as well as understanding of Ambulatory clinical workflows to be implemented within the system.
• Performs in-depth analysis of end user department workflows, data collection, reports details and other technical issues associated with Epic software as they relate to system design and build decisions.Utilize professional and effective communication skills, and serve as a liaison between end users, third parties (internal and external) and Epic implementation staff.
• Manages customer expectations while prioritizing and implementing requested changes to the system adhering to organizational policies and procedures and documents change control and system problems according to departmental procedures.
• Assists in the planning and completion of project timelines, performs work task within work plans, adheres to target deadlines, and notifies managers of any delays or potential project risks.
• Develop report specifications and work closely with Report writers to assure that all necessary regulatory, Meaningful Use, and end user Report requirements are met.
• Works closely with other implementation teams to analyze workflows, understand functionality in other applications, and apply this knowledge throughout the build, implementation and continued support.
• Work with other Epic application analysts in the building and supporting Epic’s MyChart application to enhance patient experience for personal health information.
Qualifications:
*MyChart Experience Required for this opening*
- an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or clinical related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3- 5 years' experience in the healthcare field in a hospital or medical center Ambulatory setting with experience desired in the building, implementing, and supporting Ambulatory clinical application systems.
- Epic Ambulatory EHR experience desired. Working knowledge of EpicCare Link a plus.
Excellent analysis, problem solving, trouble-shooting and customer service skills.
