Position Summary:
The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at theUniversity of New Mexico invites applications for a full time, 9-monthappointment Open Rank Lecturer II or III to begin August 10, 2026. Thedepartment seeks to hire a generalist in Speech-Language Pathology. Specifically,the department seeks a Lecturer II or III with (a) knowledge andexperience to teach undergraduate courses in the Speech and Hearing Sciencesmajor, (b) knowledge and experience to teach graduate courses for theMaster's in Speech-Language Pathology program, (c) provide clinicalsupervision of graduate students in our clinic, and (d) clinicalexperience across a breadth of areas of speech-language pathology.

In addition, the successful candidate will be a certifiedspeech-language pathologist who is eligible for a license in speech-language pathologyin the state of New Mexico. The selected candidate will teach undergraduate andgraduate courses as needed and provide clinical supervision in our universitytraining clinic. Per UNM policy, all Lecturers are reviewedannually. Workload is determined by the department Chair and Universitypolicies. The candidate is expected to contribute to our department's missionand strategic plan.   1. A Master's (for Lecturer II) or Clinical Doctorate (for Lecturer III) in speech-language pathology.
  2. The required degree was completed at least 3 years prior to the start date of appointment which is August 10, 2026.
  3. Two years of clinical experience past the clinical fellowship.
  4. ASHA's Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
  5. Eligible for a New Mexico license to provide speech language pathology services

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Demonstrated experience and excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in any area in speech and hearing sciences.
  2. Demonstrate varied experience in clinic service delivery across the life span and across a variety of disorders.
  3. Demonstrated experience and excellence with clinical supervision of graduate students and/or clinical fellows.
  4. Experience working with and providing services to multilingual populations.
  5. A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
