EDUCATION: Grade 12/Equivalent

Qualified Machinist Fitter

EXPERIENCE: 5 Years Experience in machining and fitting /3 years in quality control

REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of materials and castings/Sound knowledge of pumps assembly

Key Accountabilities:

· Conduct incoming inspection on buyouts, spares received from PVC and repaired and reworked components.

· Inspection of raw materials according to standard supplied as per the order documentation.

· Check documentation received with goods according to KSB order document requirements.

· Conduct component measurements as part of the assembly process when required by fitters.

· Follow up all intervention points as marked up on the pump assembly QCP’s with regards to hold,

verification, witness and review points.

· Conduct final inspection of complete pumps and signoff on quality and assembly documentation for final

release.

· Check all documentation that has been completed and complete the final QC Checklist before signing off.

· Markoff heat numbers, order numbers, and material on components were required.

· Perform non-destructive testing on components as defined by the instructions and standards and generate

certificates and reports for tests prior to conducting the following:

· Liquid penetrant test.

· Magnetic particle test.

· Hardness test

· Surface roughness testing for sandblast components.

· Paint coating thickness test.

· Attend pressure testing on pumps and valves and conduct inspection as per the assembly job specification

QCP.

· Attend and witness balancing of impellers at supplier premises as and when required.

· Attend and witness performance tests at supplier premises as and when required.

· Conduct site inspections with respect to dimensional and geometrical tolerances.

· If a defect is found, record on NCR form and send a copy to Planning Department and Supervisor.

· Conduct in process inspection on machines during machining on various items. (1st off)

· Conduct Final inspection of final machined item supplied from production machine shop.

· Conduct 3D measuring and scanning on various items as per QCP and manager / supervisor instruction.

· Confirmation of final machined items.

· Identify root cause of error on production line.

· Identify casting defects during Production machining process.
