Job Description
Algo is a rapidly growing technology company specializing in the manufacturing and supply of audio and video communication products. Our innovative solutions are designed to make industrial communication safe, simple, and effective. We collaborate with some of the largest technology companies globally to deliver cutting-edge products to our customers.
We are seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to lead the manufacturing engineering function at Algo and play a key role in shaping how our products are built, tested, documented, and continuously improved. This is a highly collaborative leadership role that sits at the intersection of Engineering, Operations, Production, and Quality.
This is not a “maintain the status quo” role. We’re looking for someone who wants to build systems, improve processes, mentor others, and help shape the future of manufacturing and quality at Algo.
Responsibilities
Lead Manufacturing Engineering & Quality Initiatives
- Lead and evolve the manufacturing engineering function, including mentoring and guiding a small technical team.
- Build scalable manufacturing systems, standards, and processes that improve consistency, quality, and efficiency.
- Support production quality initiatives, manufacturing readiness, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Act as a hands-on leader capable of balancing strategic improvements with day-to-day production support.
Drive Production Support & Process Control
- Oversee manufacturing documentation including work instructions, build documentation, specifications, routing, and process control.
- Support ECO implementation, BOM updates, and engineering-to-production transitions.
- Partner closely with Production, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to resolve manufacturing issues and improve workflows.
- Improve production readiness, line balancing, process flow, and manufacturing scalability.
Own Tooling, Fixtures & Manufacturing Infrastructure
- Lead the design, sourcing, validation, and maintenance of jigs, fixtures, tooling, and production aids.
- Identify opportunities to improve repeatability, throughput, quality, and safety through better manufacturing design and tooling practices.
Support Quality Systems & ISO 9001
- Help oversee and continuously improve Algo’s ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Support audits, corrective actions, non-conformance reviews, and process improvement activities.
- Use production and quality data to drive practical, measurable improvements.
Partner on New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Work closely with Engineering and R&D teams to ensure manufacturability, scalability, and production readiness are considered early in product development.
- Support prototype builds, pilot runs, validation activities, and production ramp-up.
- Identify and mitigate manufacturing risks before product release.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- P.Eng designation (or eligibility for registration).
- Strong experience in manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or process engineering within a technical manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with manufacturing documentation, ECO processes, BOMs, tooling, work instructions, audits, and process control.
- Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability), NPI, and engineering-to-production handoffs.
- Demonstrated leadership experience — formally or informally leading projects, people, or initiatives.
- Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
- Someone who takes initiative, thrives in a growing environment, and enjoys building systems and improving processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Background in electronics, electromechanical products, PCB assembly, or technical manufacturing environments.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production data management.
- Experience leading or mentoring a small technical or quality-focused team.
