Emergency Care Technician at Parkview Health – Fort Wayne, Indiana

Summary

Randallia Emergency Care is a 43bed emergency department located on the main floor at Parkview Randallia, providing care to patients of all ages with a wide range of medical, surgical, and mental health needs. The unit manages varying levels of acuity, from basic medical concerns to Level 1 trauma, supporting comprehensive emergency services for the community. Care is delivered by a collaborative team of nurses and emergency care technicians working together in a fastpaced, highacuity environment. Randallia Emergency Care emphasizes flexibility, teamwork, and delivering timely, highquality emergency care to a diverse patient population.

Education

Must have a HS Diploma or GED. If candidate is at least 17 years of age but does not yet have a current high school diploma/GED, the following requirements must be met: must be actively working towards high school diploma/GED and receive within 2 years of hire.

Licensure/Certification

Must obtain CPR certification within 60 days of hire. CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year experience working in the patient care setting preferred

Other Qualifications

Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. Demonstrates ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Must be able to attend mandatory training days week of start. New Hire Orientation (Monday – all day) and Patient Care Essentials/Epic (Tuesday-Thursday – all day).
