About This Position
Position Summary:
The Senior Engineer is responsible for creating a viable design solution in response to customer requirements for products such as Valves, Solenoid Operated Valves, Solenoids and Flame Arrestors. This person will be the technical lead of the design throughout the New Product Development Process. The Senior Engineer may also act as the project manager, which includes generation of the project plan, allocating tasks, setting milestones and communicating status updates with both internal and external customers. This person must be skilled at working in a team environment and mentoring team members as necessary.
Specific Duties:
- Completion of new product design projects from creation of proposals through development, qualification, and production.
- Determination of design feasibility to achieve performance, quality, cost and schedule.
- Apply engineering principles to design and develop new products or modify existing products.
- Analysis of test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Prepares or directs preparations of product layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
- Directs and coordinates the manufacturing/ building of prototype products.
- Creates and coordinates activities associated with risk mitigation and qualification test plans
- Successfully work with customer and other functional groups internal to G.W Lisk.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 10+ year experience
- Comprehensive problem solving and decision-making capabilities
- Communication skills - must be able to present complex technical data in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong leadership qualities
- Computer Skills: CREO (Preferred), FEA (Structural, Thermal, Magnetic, CFD), MATHCAD, Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, Project)
- Lean and six sigma tools; DFM, DFA, DFSS and DMAIC
- Project management principles; planning, estimating, requirements management, risk analysis
- Working knowledge of quality, design assurance and product reliability principles
- Strong business acumen
- Strong process and detail orientation
- Detailed knowledge of several fabrication, joining and finishing processes.
Compensation: $74,000.00 - $95,000.00 annual base salary-based experience
