A student practical nurse apprentice assists the licensed practical nurse or registered nurse in the practice of professional nursing by providing direct patient care to promote patient comfort and facilitate the performance of diagnostic and treatment procedures as outlined the patient’s plan of care. Works under the direct supervision of the primary LPN or RN. Maintains patient confidentiality. Works within the scope of practice and educational preparation. Functions as a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
