About This Position
Job Summary:
Assist the pharmacist in all duties related to the preparation, gathering, labeling, and distribution of medications. Maintains working area in clean and orderly condition. Inspect drug storage areas; maintain inventory; manage medication supply; and provide technical support services to pharmacists.Prepare outpatient prescriptions and/or orders; measure and fill patients medications; prepare labels; check for outdated drugs in accordance with federal, state and accreditation standards.Knowledge of basic cash register and deposit functions. May deliver medications or run other errands/tasks as assigned by the pharmacist.
Performance Expectations:
Performance expectations will be covered in the orientation and precepted phases of your orientation to your job.
Education/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required; courses in science and math helpful.
Work Experience:
Preferred but not required.
Certifications/Licensure:
Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy required upon hire. Pharmacy Technician National Certification required within 90 days from date of hire.

- Demonstrates basic understanding of the 340b program.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills and interaction with staff.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrates ability to maintain inventory levels and stock.
- Demonstrates physical ability required to deliver medications and supplies.
- Demonstrates initiative to maintain/meet licensure and certification requirements.
- Demonstrates ability to perform technician duties as deemed appropriate by management and supervising pharmacist.
Education/Skills:
