Job Summary:
The Department of Surgery at WMC Health Network is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Surgical Oncologist / Hepatobiliary Surgeon to join Westchester Medical Center, the primary teaching affiliate of New York Medical College. The successful candidate must have completed a residency in General Surgery, fellowship training in Surgical Oncology and/or Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) Surgery and be eligible for a New York State medical license.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a qualified physician to join a comprehensive academic medical center serving a catchment area of more than 3 million people throughout the Hudson Valley and surrounding region. The successful candidate will become part of a growing, collaborative surgical program dedicated to providing high-quality, multidisciplinary cancer care with a strong emphasis on hepatobiliary and complex oncologic surgery.
Westchester Medical Center offers a dynamic academic environment with access to advanced technology, a robust referral base, and close collaboration with medical oncology, radiation oncology, gastroenterology, interventional radiology, transplant surgery, pathology, and other subspecialties. This position provides the opportunity to develop a broad hepatobiliary and surgical oncology practice within a highly supportive and collegial setting.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include the evaluation and management of patients with benign and malignant diseases of the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, and related gastrointestinal malignancies, as well as participation in multidisciplinary cancer conferences, quality initiatives, and program development. Teaching of medical students, surgical residents, and fellows is an important component of the role, and the selected candidate will receive an academic appointment commensurate with experience through New York Medical College.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Board-eligible or board-certified in General Surgery
- Fellowship training in Surgical Oncology and/or Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) Surgery
- Eligible for a New York State medical license
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Interest in academic surgery, teaching, and program growth preferred
