About This Position

Position Summary:
The Part-Time Podiatrist provides comprehensive podiatric care to patients of EXCELth, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), with a focus on preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of foot and ankle conditions common in underserved and medically complex populations. The Podiatrist works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team to support the overall health and well-being of patients while adhering to FQHC and HRSA standards of care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of podiatric conditions, including but not limited to diabetic foot care, ulcers, infections, nail disorders, calluses, wounds, and minor surgical procedures.
Perform routine podiatric services such as nail debridement, callus care, wound care, and orthotic assessments.
Collaborate with primary care providers, nursing staff, care coordinators, and behavioral health professionals in a team-based care model.
Educate patients on foot health, preventive care, and management of chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes).
Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) in accordance with clinical, legal, and billing requirements.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with clinical protocols, policies, and procedures.
Adhere to HRSA, FQHC, and organizational guidelines, including care for uninsured and underinsured populations using a sliding fee scale.
Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and risk management standards.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and case conferences as required.
Maintain active licensure, credentialing, and continuing medical education (CME) requirements.

Schedule:
Part-time position; hours and days to be determined based on clinic needs
May include one or more clinic locations

Required Qualifications:
Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from an accredited podiatric medical school
Active, unrestricted podiatry license in the state of practice
DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
Board eligibility or certification preferred
Experience or strong interest in community health, primary care, or underserved populations
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in an FQHC, community health center, or safety-net setting
Experience managing diabetic foot conditions and chronic disease-related complications
Bilingual abilities are a plus (Spanish or other languages commonly spoken by the patient population)
