Position Summary:
Hendersonville Pediatrics is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our care team as a Pediatric Triage & Advice Nurse. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted resource for families—offering expert guidance, assessing symptoms, and helping caregivers navigate everything from the common cold to high-fever panic. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive timely, accurate, and family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
● Provide telephone triage using established clinical protocols to assess patient needs and determine the appropriate level of care.
● Offer evidence-based health education and home care instructions to parents and caregivers.
● Evaluate symptoms, prioritize urgency, and direct patients to appropriate care pathways (in-office visit, urgent care, emergency department, or home care).
● Schedule acute in-office sick visit if appropriate.
● Communicate with providers and staff to support care coordination and follow-up.
● Accurately document all triage interactions and clinical communications in the electronic health record (EHR).
● Assist with care coordination tasks such as follow-up calls, lab result reviews, school notes, and patient education.
● Assist with prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic testing.
● Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
● Active RN license in the state of North Carolina.
● Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience; triage or advice line experience preferred.
● Excellent clinical judgment and strong written and oral communication skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
● Comfortable using EHR systems and clinical decision support tools.
● BLS certification required; PALS preferred.
● Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.

Schedule:
Full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm)
