Radiology Tech - Cardiac Cath Lab at Community First Medical Center – Chicago, Illinois

This opportunity is for Mon-Fri.- full time days and some call.

Performs a variety of technical tasks involved in operating radiographic/x-ray equipment and making radiographs of designated parts of the body. Assists in all invasive procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Special Procedures/Electrophysiology lab. The staff in this position will work as part of a team with physician, registered nurses, and cardiovascular technicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Demonstrates responsibility for x-ray equipment in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.

2. Adjusts equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.

3. Positions patients for certain anatomical view using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.

4. Accurately processes images, matched with appropriate labels and information for interpretation.

5. Daily responsibility for checking that all procedures were properly transmitted and archived.

6. Functions as a scrub person and a procedure table for all diagnostic and interventional procedures

7. Functions as a monitor person in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.

8. Rotates calls for all emergency and add-on procedures.

9. Demonstrates understanding of radiation safety and sterile techniques.

10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• 1+ to 3 years in Cath Lab/Special Procedure, Electrophysiology preferred
• Graduation from an approved program in Radiology Technology
• BLS, Current Licensure in the State of Illinois,
• Current Registration by ARRT and IEMA, are required.
• ACLS and ECG are preferred.
• Ability to speak and write English to the extent necessary for safe and efficient performance of the job.
