About This Position
Job Summary
The Tile Cleaning & Acid Wash Helper supports the Tile Cleaning and Acid Wash Technician in maintaining and restoring swimming pools. This role is responsible for assisting with equipment setup, material handling, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the tile cleaning trailer and tools.
This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are reliable, physically capable, and willing to learn specialized pool restoration services. This role does not include driving responsibilities, as helpers will always ride with the lead technician.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist the Tile Cleaning/Acid Wash Technician with daily pool restoration services.
- Lift and transport 45 lb. bags of blasting media used during tile cleaning.
- Monitor PSI gauges during tile cleaning operations and adjusts valves or media flow as directed by the technician.
- Help load and unload equipment and materials to and from customer backyards.
- Maintain the tile cleaning trailer by keeping tools, hoses, and equipment clean and organized.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of tile cleaning and acid wash equipment at job sites.
- Support safe handling of materials and tools during all phases of the job.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
- Provide general labor support to the technician to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
- Required Skills
- Applicants must have 2+ years of verifiable experience in servicing pool motors, pumps, heaters, electronic controls, and salt chlorination systems. Experience must also include hydraulic and electric trouble shooting skills along with experience working on in floor cleaning systems.
- Applicants must supply references verifying industry experience, as well as references for their ability to interact with coworkers, management, and customers in a positive manner.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- An acceptable MVD license report and clean background check with no prior felony convictions, DWI's or current judgments required, as you will be operating a company van
- Good communication skills with customers and co-workers
- Diver Certification a plus but not required
Be willing to work overtime during our busy season or when necessary
Required Experience/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and motor vehicle report.
- Must have valid driver’s license, 3 years of verifiable driving history and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to work outdoors in hot weather and direct sunlight.
- Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and carry equipment in residential backyards.
- Comfortable working around water, pool chemicals, and pressurized equipment.
