PRN Ultrasonographer-Registered - Radiology - Ultrasound

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the Registered Ultrasound Technologist performs a variety of ultrasound exams including abdominal, OB-GYN and vascular. The Ultrasonographer also assists physician with certain invasive procedures.

Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, Vascular Sonography program or Radiologic Technology program.

Licensure/Certification: Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in AB, OB/GYN and RVT or certification by the ARRT in sonography. Ultrasound technologist will be required to obtain registry for all of the following, at least one to be completed within one (1) year of hire date. All registries must be obtained within two (2) years of hire date, or 1 year from date of eligibility. BLS required.

Experience: Ultrasound experience preferred.

Skills: Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to exhibit patience and tact and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all situations with all constituents including patients, physicians and other associates. Must also demonstrate flexibility with work schedule changes, be cooperative and collaborative, and have the documented ability to work with speed and proficiency while under stress. Performs a variety of ultrasound exams including abdominal, OB-GYN and vascular.
