Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney Manager to lead and oversee the daily execution of our litigation team, ensuring cases are handled with quality, consistency, and discipline. This role is responsible for managing attorney performance and quality control, case flow and trial readiness, coaching and development of attorneys, and cross-team coordination to ensure all matters are prepared effectively for mediation and trial.

The ideal candidate brings strong personal injury litigation expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to proactively identify risks, drive accountability, and maintain high standards across the team while supporting a collaborative, results-driven environment.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND REQUIREMENTS

Attorney Execution & Quality Control

• Own the daily execution of all Litigation Associate Attorneys.

• Monitor caseloads, discovery, motion practice, and trial prep to ensure nothing stalls or falls behind.

• Review pleadings, discovery, and key filings for quality, completeness, and strategy alignment.

• Identify gaps, risks, or quality issues and drive corrective action.

Coaching, Training & Development

• Serve as the primary coach and mentor for Litigation Associate Attorneys.

• Train attorneys on discovery strategy, motion practice, trial preparation, and professional standards.

• Lead onboarding and ramp-up for new litigation attorneys.

• Reinforce litigation playbooks, workflows, and best practices.

Case Flow, Medical Management & Risk Control

• Track litigation milestones to ensure discovery, experts, and trial preparation remain on schedule.

• Monitor medical development, records completeness, and lien posture to protect case value.

• Escalate high-risk, high-value, firm-impacting, strategic, or stuck cases to the Director of Litigation for valuation and strategy alignment.

Personal Caseload

• Maintain a limited personal caseload of higher-complexity or escalated matters to stay grounded in execution and model best practices in medical management, discovery, and trial preparation.

Lead Screening & Conversion Support

• Partner with Intake, Pre-Litigation, and the Director of Litigation to screen, evaluate, and provide legal input on complex, high-value, or litigated leads.

• Participate in client screening and consultation as needed to support lead conversion and ensure cases accepted into litigation align with firm strategy and risk standards.

• Reinforce confidence in the firm’s litigation posture through attorney involvement when required.

Cross-Team Coordination

• Partner with departments/teams to resolve case blockers.

• Ensure attorneys have what they need to keep cases moving efficiently.

• Support clean case transfers from Pre-Lit and to trial teams.

Operational Visibility & Accountability

• Maintain visibility into attorney workload, discovery status, and trial readiness.

• Provide clear, actionable updates to the Director of Litigation on risks, performance, and capacity.

Risk, Compliance & Professional Standards

• Protect the firm from missed deadlines, sanctions, SOL exposure, and ethical violations.

• Maintain consistent quality, professionalism, and courtroom reputation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education & Experience

• Juris Doctor (JD) and active Texas Bar license in good standing.

• Experience handling litigated personal injury or civil cases through discovery, mediation, and trial.

• 10+ years of Personal Injury experience required.

• Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and hold attorneys accountable.

• Strong understanding of discovery, motion practice, experts, and litigation economics.

• Ability to manage multiple attorneys and shifting priorities.

• Proficiency with CRM, case management systems and legal technology.

• Strong communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
