About This Position
Key duties and responsibilities for Deli Associate include managing customers and handling food.
Customer Service:
Customer Service:
- Respond to and attend to customer requests in the deli department
- Have a working knowledge of the grocery store inventory to assist customers
- Responsible for preparing deli items, weighing and wrapping deli products
- Maintains Food Safety Certification and follows the proper food handling procedures set by the County Health Department
- Checking product levels
- Examining expiration dates
- Rotating goods
- Replenishing
- Straightening products on the shelves
- Unloading incoming shipments
- Unboxing products
- Maintain proper sanitation in the deli area, sales area, backroom, coolers, cases and common public area as set forth by Atlas Valley Purveyors
- Attention to detail
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to take direction
- Food Safety Certification
- Stand
- Walk
- Bend down
- Lift and carry at least 50 pounds
- Perform various repetitive motions
- Basic reading and mathematics skills
- Maintain proper communication with managers and fellow co-workers
- Ability to cross-train with other positions within the store
