Bartender at The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa – Grand Cayman

Overview

• Provide friendly, courteous and efficient quality presentation beverage service to all guests.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Prepare beverages, as per standards, as they are ordered by the servers. Act as the cashier for the servers when necessary. Responsible for closing all checks. Provide change and remit the appropriate moneys to the general cashier
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bar area through disposing of all waste, clearing and cleaning all glassware, and wiping down bar and preparation areas.
• Provide opening and closing inventory of spirits
• Perform set up duties as requested, including side stations, storage areas and beverage staging area.
• Perform general cleaning tasks utilizing cleaning products to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Inventory bar stock, compare to the par levels and inform the manager of any products that need to be ordered.
• Must possess strong computer skills including micros P.O.S.
• Must have knowledge of and be able to operate all equipment related to the outlet, including, but not limited to, coffee maker and cash terminal.
• Must have a strong knowledge of drink preparation and applicable health standards
• Knowledge of local laws, ordinances and regulations regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated patrons
• CARE certification
• High school or equivalent education required
• Three year high volume bar experience required. Customer service experience preferred.
• Hospitality degree preferred

Responsibilities

This position requires working a flexible schedule of day and/or evening shifts including weekends and public holidays and on call at all times. The applicant must meet the minimum requirements and must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language “English” used in the workplace.
