Summary of Responsibilities

Overview: A glazier at FSG is the backbone of every project, big or small. He or she is responsible for loading and checking materials at the shop, unloading and distributing materials at the jobsite, installing the materials, jobsite clean-up and unloading trash & tools upon return to the shop.

O Basic Knowledge:

• Proficiency with basic math including addition, subtraction and fractions
• Measuring capability using tape measures, levels, squares and plumb bobs
• Proficiency with hand tools which include but are not limited to hammers, dead blow hammers, screw drivers, pry bars, razor knives, hook tools, sockets, wrenches, allen sets, chisels, files, plyers, snips, channel locks, vise grips, shears, hacksaws and suction cups
• Proficiency with power tools which include but are not limited to impact drivers, drills, hammer-drills, grinders, chop saws, jig saws, reciprocating saws, oscillating multi-tools and nail guns

O Overall Ability:

• Proficiency with Storefront/Curtainwall fabrication & installation
• Proficiency with installation and fabrication of All Glass Entries & Partitions
• Proficiency with door hardware fabrication, service and installation
• Experienced in shower door and mirror installations
• Window removal and replacement capabilities
• Ability to cut monolithic and laminated glass and mirror
• Ability to install new or replacement glass panels with varied installation methods

O Field Coordination:

• Ability to communicate with jobsite superintendents or client representatives
• Ability to take direction and or work independently
• Ability to work with and alongside co-workers effectively

• Strength – arms, legs, back and hands – Glass is heavy & moving it strains the body and a strong grip is needed
• Dedication – Willingness to persevere through good times and bad
• Flexibility – Hours are ever changing, we work days, nights and weekends with early, regular and late start times as required
