ABOUT CPLC DE COLORES
CPLC De Colores Domestic Violence programs provides a safe, secure place for families to heal from the traumatizing effects of abuse. Shelter and community-based services meet survivors where they are to help them discover their strengths and regain their freedom.
SCHEDULE
On-site, full-time, Monday-Friday, including
- On-call coverage once a month
- Holiday coverage for a minimum of two (2) holidays a year.
- Required to work during the Christmas holiday week.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
This is an active, team environment! You will represent De Colores as the first contact for visitors coming to the shelter, creating a hospitable, safe, and helpful experience. As you greet each resident/client/visitor, you will determine their needs and connect them with the appropriate team member or resource. Throughout the day, you'll answer phones promptly, manage the flow of correspondence and mail distribution. You'll manage incoming resident/client intake assessments, chart document preparation, data entry and various administrative duties to keep the day-to-day team operations flowing smoothly.
- Deliver exceptional first impressions by answering and routing calls swiftly, greeting guests with genuine hospitality, and providing clear, accurate information.
- Support the client onboarding experience by handling incoming intake assessments, new resident tours and introductions, completing paperwork and creating new resident charts, data entry, and record maintenance.
- Maintain confidentiality in all administrative and programmatic matters, which include shelter's physical address.
- Own administrative workflow by handling reports, memos, internal and external communications, managing the mail system, coordinating express deliveries (FedEx, UPS, etc), and making timely trips to the post office (about 3x a week) to keep things moving.
- Fuel community support on the go by driving to pick up donations, assisting with route activities, and stepping up for events and holiday coverage as assigned/needed.

- You create a safe, welcoming space for survivors of domestic violence, and are genuinely committed to building a community with people from all backgrounds.
- You champion confidentiality, organization and accuracy, managing and maintaining confidential records and information, including client details and the location of the shelter.
- You adapt and respond with empathy, handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while supporting individuals during vulnerable moments.
- You take initiative and contribute to the team's success, from coordinating mail and donation pickups to stepping in for flexible shifts that keep the shelter operating and clients supported.
Education/Background:
- Combination of 6 to 12 months education and/or experience as receptionist, administrative support/customer service.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, especially Microsoft teams).

- Verbal and written communication skills, including excellent phone etiquette.
- Proven ability to follow-up and meet deadlines.
- Professional presentation (business casual). Punctual and able to meet deadlines.
- Able to work with minimum supervision and manage multiple tasks effectively.
