Regional Operations Chief at Crossroads Cooperative Assn – Gering, Nebraska

Location: Northern Crossroads Coop Region(Gering, NE area)
Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 7:00a.m. – 4:30p.m. Overtime and weekends as needed - mainly during harvest.

Responsibilities:
Crossroads Coop is searching for a leader that will oversee and manage the grain operations business for the northern region of the Coop’s territory. This will include grain procurement, storage and outbound. This person will assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans to optimize grain operations and maximize profits.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations as well as industrial standards and best practices.
• Identify and implement cost saving measures and efficiency improvements in operations.
• Coordinate and work with other departments and divisions of the company.
• Manage and assist sites and their teams in performing critical operational functions to keep the facility running smoothly. This may include understanding the staff at each location to assist in the interview of future team members.
• Assist in repairs, loading, and unloading of trucks and railcars.
• Manage the maintenance of facilities and grounds.
• Monitor equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and perform repairs as needed. If unable to make the repair, be sure to coordinate with maintenance and management so arrangements can be made to get repairs done in a timely fashion.
• Reporting: responsible for completing daily reports, weekly and monthly measuring reports, and monthly maintenance reports.
• Ability to interview and train new hires as well as manage the new-hire evaluation process by completing required assessments.
• This person will conduct or supervise the training of the Operations team members, including Warehouse Operators, Site Leads and Scale Operators.
Requirements:
• Current on all safety and training protocols
• Excellent Communications Skills
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and empower team members.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Understanding of how to correctly grade grain.
• Proficiency in Microsoft and relevant software
• Ability to manage effectively and lead by example.
• Provide great customer service.
• Maintenance of grain quality and condition
• Ability to communicate effectively to management about needs and daily status of operations.
• Must be diligent about maintaining a safe work environment and ensure others are practicing safe behaviors and following all safety procedures.
• Ability and approval to operate all mobile equipment within the company.
