Hospitality Housekeeper at Icy Strait Point LLC – Hoonah, Alaska

*This position is open to residents of Hoonah, Alaska only

Seasonal only (September- October)

Pay rate and schedule: $22.00/hr, about 40 hours per week

Position Summary

As a Housekeeper, you’ll ensure that all public and housing facilities are clean, tidy, and inviting. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining a positive atmosphere while addressing the needs of our employees with a friendly and professional attitude.

What You'll Do:

• Clean and maintain public areas, housing facilities, and restrooms
• Polish furniture and fixtures, and ensure exterior spaces are neat and trash-free
• Wash walls, ceilings, and windows; move and arrange furniture
• Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors
• Perform daily tasks such as trash removal, dish cleaning, special assignments, and preparing linens
• Address employee/guest room turnover, including cleaning upon check-out
• Maintain and clean equipment such as vacuums, trolleys, and scrubbers
• Report maintenance issues promptly and follow departmental policies
• Support seasonal cleaning and other duties assigned by management

What You Bring:

• Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat; prolonged standing required
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and handle physical tasks like swinging an axe to cut wood
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Comfortable working in unheated buildings and noisy areas with odors
