The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist is responsible for delivering high quality diagnostic imaging using MRI for interpretation by radiologists. This role ensures patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality while adhering to established protocols, policies and regulatory standards. The MRI technologist will work under the direction of a radiologist, their unit manager and director. The MRI technologist role requires independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative to apply their skills to provide quality care to patients. |

The department provides diagnostic MRI services within the health care facility to patients in need. |

ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in MRI. |
|
| • |
Maintain current certifications as required. |
|
| • |
Comprehensive knowledge of level II MRI safety. |
|
| • |
Proficiency in MRI procedures and anatomy-based positioning. |
|
| • |
Ability to operate equipment within the department. |
|
| • |
Medical Imaging experience preferred. |
|
| • |
Excellent patient care, communication, organizational and teamwork skills. |
|
| • |
Obtain and maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) is required. |

Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and related software. |

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. |
|
| • |
Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. |
|

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. |
|

Adaptability to changing work environment or needs. |

Computer, keyboard skills preferred. |

Ability to operate equipment within the department. |

Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images. |
|
| • |
Identify each patient and review physician orders for accuracy. |
|
| • |
Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, ensuring comfort and safety. |
|
| • |
Administer contrast agents as required, following safety guidelines. |
|
| • |
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and facility policies. |
|
| • |
Review each examination for quality. |
|
| • |
Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of MRI equipment, report malfunctions promptly. |
|
| • |
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure optimal patient care. |
|
| • |
Adhere to infection control and safety procedures. |
|
| • |
Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with technological advancements. |
|
| • |
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and stock supplies. |
|
| • |
Adhere to Aultman policies and procedures. |
| • |
Hours may vary as required by job. Weekends and holidays, off shift and on call duties. |

Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day. |
|
| • |
Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate coverage. |

Cross training in areas of the department as required. |
|
| • |
Colleagues may be assigned to different locations within the foundation. |
|
| • |
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. |
|
Category I - Includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for spills or splashes of, or mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues are Category I tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks. |
