Job Description
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Courier to join our team in Dothan, AL. In this role, you'll help ensure the safe and timely transportation of blood products, supplies, and important materials that support lifesaving operations throughout our service area.
***Must be able to work a varied schedule. Some night, weekend, and on-call hours are required.***
What You'll Do
- Transport blood products, supplies, and materials safely and efficiently to hospitals, donor centers, and other service locations
- Review shipping notices, orders, and delivery documentation to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
- Receive and fulfill blood product orders from hospitals and other customers
- Inspect blood products to verify quality and proper handling requirements
- Package and prepare blood products for shipment according to established procedures
- Assist with errands, supply pickups, document deliveries, and transportation of items for repair when needed
- Support Hospital Services leadership by helping resolve delivery and transportation issues
- Maintain compliance with LifeSouth policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain LifeSouth driver eligibility requirements
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to read and interpret procedures, instructions, and related documentation
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, percentages, and proportions
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, lift, grasp, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and occasionally stoop, squat, push, pull, climb, and perform overhead lifting

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. We are committed to meeting the blood supply needs of hospitals and their patients by providing the highest quality blood components and services. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.
