JOB DESCRIPTION

Stewart Glass is seeking an experienced and motivated Shift Lead to oversee daily production operations within our solar glass manufacturing facility. The Shift Lead is responsible for supporting production efficiency, maintaining safety and quality standards, leading team members, and ensuring operational goals are achieved during assigned shifts. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and support production employees during assigned shifts in a solar glass manufacturing environment
- Monitor production flow to ensure efficiency, quality, and output goals are consistently achieved
- Promote and enforce workplace safety policies, procedures, and OSHA compliance standards
- Conduct shift start-up meetings and communicate daily production expectations and priorities
- Train, mentor, and support employees on production procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols
- Monitor manufacturing equipment and coordinate with maintenance teams regarding operational concerns or downtime
- Perform quality inspections and ensure products meet company and customer specifications
- Assist with troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions
- Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and documentation
- Ensure proper staffing coverage and support attendance tracking and scheduling needs
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste
- Collaborate with management, quality, maintenance, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations
- Perform additional duties and special projects assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing
- 4 year engineering degree or equivalent STEM degree
- Experience in glass manufacturing, industrial production, or solar manufacturing preferred
- Strong understanding of manufacturing safety standards and production processes
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and production tracking systems
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, procedures, and reports
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work in varying industrial temperatures throughout the shift
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed

Production Schedule:
- Night Shift 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- All Shifts: 4 days on, 4 days off (12 hours total).
